Bio
With roots from the Gulf of Guinea, Enric J. “Reekz” Trillo Nchana is an Equatoguinean-Spanish DJ & producer based in London, embracing the Afroworld – sounds of the global Afro diaspora – from Africa to the Caribbean, Latin America & beyond.
Born and raised in Alcorcón (Madrid) to Equatoguinean parents, music has been part of Reekz’s life from early – from playing Djembe drums with his dad and uncles, to growing up in a vibrant community of fellow Hispanics, Lusophones, and Francophones – his early music diet consisted of these (tribal & melodic) influences.
Moving to London in 2010, known for being a cultural melting pot, exposed Reekz to other music, such as Dancehall and Afroswing, becoming the main entrypoints to other sides of the Afroworld.
Reekz's start in music began in 2014 when he started studying the craft through Virtual DJ and a Numark Mixtrack Pro 2. His early days included performing in small events, like house parties, backyard parties and hall parties, giving him valuable live experience.
Since then, Reekz has gone from packed house parties to club venues and mansion events – from London to the Midlands. He is known for his high-energy sets and original productions.
Now, DJ Reekz is contributing to the Afroworld – he believes music is glue that connects cultures. He also curates premium DJ crates, produces original tracks and remixes, and is developing exclusive tools for DJs who want to bring global Afro flavour to their own sets.
Reekz is on a mission to put Equatorial Guinea on the map with a sound that captures his roots, combined with his upbringing in multicultural communities in both London and Madrid, influenced by legends such as Nemours Jean-Baptiste (Kompa, Haiti), Nando Boom (Reggaetón, Panamá), and Kybba (Basshall, Netherlands).
For Reekz, this isn't just music – it represents energy. It's about celebrating culture from the Afroworld – the global Afro diaspora.
Enric J. “Reekz” Trillo Nchana stands as a true Afro-hispanic figure pushing unity between the Afro dispora. His journey is far from over, and he is only just getting started.
